In 1962 he married Princess Sofia of Greece and Denmark (Sofia cksburg Gla). The fruit of this marriage were born three children: Infanta Elena (Duchess of Lugo), the Infanta Cristina (Duchess of Palma de Mallorca) and Prince Felipe of Asturias. It is also the grandfather of 8 grandchildren: Felipe Juan Froilan and Victoria Marichalar and Borbon, Juan, Pablo, Miguel and Irene Urdangarin and Borbon, and Infantas Leonor de Borbon and Sofia Ortiz.
The official residence of the Royal Family is the Royal Palace in Madrid but is reserved for official ceremonies. The Kings live at the Palacio de la Zarzuela and Prince Philip’s family also reside within the precincts of the Zarzuela, in a recent house call Prince Hall, the Infanta Elena and Cristina live in private homes in Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
